Prof. Dr. Michael Boon Chong Khoo is a Professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He earned his PhD in Applied Statistics from Universiti Sains Malaysia. His core research focuses on Statistical Quality Control and Statistical Process Control, with dedicated work on developing advanced control charts including EWMA, CUSUM, double sampling, variable sampling interval and multivariate schemes, covering research themes such as coefficient variation monitoring, time-between-event detection and distribution-free process surveillance. He has authored nearly 400 peer-reviewed journal papers indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, published in top journals of industrial engineering and statistics like International Journal of Production Research and Computers & Industrial Engineering, and acts as a regular peer reviewer for numerous WoS-indexed international journals. He is an official member of the American Society for Quality, proficient in statistical software including SAS, Matlab and Mathematica, and has supervised a large number of postgraduate students throughout his career. He frequently participates in international conferences on statistics and industrial engineering to present his findings, and boasts profound academic expertise and global influence in industrial process monitoring and statistical optimization for manufacturing quality management.
