Prof. Teh Sin Yin /Associate Professor

Prof. Teh Sin Yin is an Associate Professor in Operations and Business Analytics at the School of Management, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She obtained her B.Sc. in Applied Statistics, M.Sc. in Statistics, and Ph.D. in Statistics from USM, and has also completed executive education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her research interests encompass business analytics, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, data mining, statistical quality and process control, robust statistics, operations management, industrial engineering, logistics and transportation, and TRIZ theory of inventive problem solving. She has led and participated in numerous nationally funded and industry-collaborative research projects, working with organizations including the Penang State Government, Motorola, and Sanmina-SCI, and has secured approximately RM1.6 million in competitive research funding. Prof. Teh has published more than 100 scholarly papers, including articles in leading Q1 SCI/SSCI journals, as well as books and book chapters. She is a frequent keynote and invited speaker at international conferences and has received multiple international Best Paper and Best Poster awards. In addition, she actively contributes to the academic community as an editorial board member, reviewer for more than 40 international journals, examiner for postgraduate theses, and external academic assessor. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT), a Certified Logistician (MLogM), and a member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Statistics Malaysia, the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, the Institution of Engineers, and the China Society of Logistics.
